Public Ice Skating
THE PUBLIC SKATING CALENDAR IS POSTED APPROXIMATELY THE 27TH OF EACH MONTH, FOR THE UPCOMING MONTH.
ONLY COACHES CONTRACTED WITH COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS PARKS AND RECREATION MAY COACH DURING OPEN SKATE SESSIONS.
COACHING IS NOT ALLOWED DURING PUBLIC SKATE SESSIONS.
ADMISSION PRICES
CHRC Members: FREE
Youth Admission (3-17): $6.00
Adult Admission (18-61): $7.00
Senior Admission (62+): $6.00
Skates INCLUDED in general admission price.
Groups: Group Discount for 2026 is $5/skater. Before bringing your group to skate, please visit our Group Ice Skating Page.
All Bobby-Seal Skate-Aid users, including birthday parties, must abide by all Bobby-Seal reservation and usage rules. Please read below for more information on Bobby-Seal Skate-Aid.
Due to large groups on the ice and safety, Bobby Seal Skate-Aid will not be available on Tuesday and Wednesday nights during peak season (Nov 1 - March 1).
ONLY COACHES CONTRACTED WITH COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS PARKS AND RECREATION MAY COACH DURING OPEN SKATE SESSIONS.

Public & Open Sessions
Public Sessions
Public Sessions are designated for general ice skating only. Routine practice, training, and coaching are not permitted.
- CHRC staff exclusively manage music during all Public Sessions.
- Personal or routine music is not allowed under any circumstances.
Open Sessions
Open Sessions are available to the general public and allow for skating practice and coaching. These sessions typically have lower attendance.
- Only coaches contracted with Cottonwood Heights Parks and Recreation may provide coaching during Open Sessions.
- CHRC staff manage music during all Open Sessions.
- Skaters may play one routine song, one time per session.
Bobby Seal Skate-Aid
We offer 12 Seal skate aids, available in 30-minute increments on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Available during both Public and Open Sessions
- For skaters 8 years old and younger only
- Must be checked out and supervised by an adult at all times
- Limit of one Seal per adult; photo ID required as collateral
Important:
Seals are strictly for skating assistance. Misuse or unsafe behavior will result in immediate revocation.
Availability Note:
Seals are not available during Public Sessions from 7:00–9:00 PM on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (November–March) due to high attendance.
Birthday parties held in the party room must follow all Seal Skate-Aid rules and reservation policies.
Public Ice Skating Rules
- Adult supervision is required for all skaters age 8 and under
- Carrying other skaters (including infants or children) is not allowed
- Backpacks and bags are not permitted on the ice
- Tag, chase, “conga lines,” or similar activities are prohibited
- Strollers are not allowed on the ice
- No food or drinks are permitted on the ice
- Guests may use designated table areas or reserve the party room
- Rough, rowdy, or dangerous behavior is strictly prohibited and may result in removal from the facility
- Figure skating maneuvers are allowed during Open Sessions only
- If you fall, please get up promptly unless injured
- For assistance or medical attention, contact a skate guard or staff member immediately
Additional Guidelines
- Skate aids are available for skaters age 8 and under only
- An adult (18+) must check out the aid and provide collateral
- ADA devices and helmets are available upon request
- Wheelchairs are permitted if in good condition and accompanied by a responsible support person
Authority of Staff:
Skate guards and facility staff reserve the right to remove any patron from the ice at any time, without warning.
